Coated Metals
The practice of coating metal with zinc for siding and roofing originated in the early 19th century with the invention of galvanization. Over time, advancements in galvanization technology have led to improvements in coating quality, application methods, and environmental sustainability. With the incorporation of a Kynar coating, an additional layer of protection is imparted to the material, enhancing its resilience against environmental elements while concurrently reflecting solar radiation.
Galvalume® / zincalume®
A revolutionary metallic-coated steel, providing unparalleled durability and corrosion resistance with its optimized 55% AluminumZinc coating. This coating ensures a service life of up to 60 years in exterior applications, four times longer than standard galvanization.
Upon being cut, the zinc/aluminum alloy coating of ZINCALUME® steel effectively seals the bare steel at the cut edge. This process furnishes galvanic protection to cut or scratched areas of exposed bare steel.

Weathering Metals
Materials that improve in appearance as it weathers due to oxidation are often called weathering metals. Exposure to air and moisture creates a protective patina, showcasing a range of colors like green and blue, enhancing the metal’s aesthetic appeal. While certain specialized materials may have environmental limitations, be assured that our seasoned professionals will work with you to find the optimal aesthetic and metal for your project.
COPPER
The premier choice for marine corrosion resistance in metal roofing, prized for its unparalleled durability and longevity. Copper’s timeless beauty and exceptional durability make it an ideal option for any project, ensuring enduring quality for generations. Evidence of copper’s longevity is widespread across Coronado Island, showcasing roofs and gutters that maintain pristine condition even after centuries of service. Additionally, copper’s natural patina process, transitioning from dark brown to distinguished green, serves as a protective layer, enhancing both its aesthetic and value over time.
Zincalume plus™
A clear odorless resin coating is applied in-line to Zincalume® steel, this resin coating provides a beautiful finish while also meeting the handling and safety needs of roll-formers, service centers and installers.
Over 12-18 months, the surface finish darkens as the resin coating weathers away, preserving durability without powdering, peeling, or cracking. This change solely affects the visual aspect, with no compromise to protective properties, weathering like nonresin-coated Zincalume®.
RUSTeel plus™
An ideal design option for that classic, historic, weathered look. It quickly and naturally forms a layer of rust or patina when exposed to various atmospheric and weather conditions. The attractive aged appearance of Rusteel Plus™ often blends delightfully with the surrounding natural environment. Its appearance develops and changes with time.
Rusteel Plus™ (A606-4) is best suited for dryer, less humid environments and is not recommended for marine environments.
Premium Finish
Vintage®
An innovative coating process over a G-90 metallic-coated steel surface. The process creates shade variations from light to dark, the lighter shade exhibiting a grey tone while the darker shade exhibits a bronze or brown tone. The dynamic, pre-aged appearance makes this a beautiful and durable product choice that is also graffiti resistant.
This versatile finish is widely favored for standing seam profiles, flat concealed fastener wall panels, or when combined with wood and stone elements.
