New Biomedia uses polymers to link
micro-pores together, allowing for effective transport
of food (or substrates) to the surface of microbial
cells and the removal of wastes (or metabolites) from
the cells. The Biomedia, together with special immobilization
techniques, significantly increases bacteria density
in wastewater and creates an ideal microenvironment
for bacteria to work most efficiently. Aquasol has designed
different types of biomedia, each specific to one particular
type of microorganisms.
